We were very fortunate to have a mild day with a reasonably steady westerly wind for our last Sunday sail of the year. We initially set the same course as Friday but as the wind increased changed the leeward buoy to No 8. Most boats are now well tuned giving little difference in the performance of the various designs and resulting in close and competitive sailing. I note that 6 different skippers won at least one race. Unfortunately there is still a small amount of weed with some skippers being more unlucky than others.

let’s hope it clears in the next few weeks and we can enjoy our lovely lake at its best.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and enjoyable sailing.
