Well that was a strange one.

7 skippers navigated a very muddy carpark, path and foreshore waving their A rigs at a blustery, westerly wind.

Race one – Dick lost his trousers, no that’s not right – Dick lost his jib and Oliver lost his way.

Race 2 – variable wind – John M dnf

Race 3 – variable wind Trevor I dnf

Lengthy coffee break

Race 4 – a fine display of hands free – and any control at all – as 181 sailed a dead straight, beautifully balanced run – all on its own – half way down the lake to crash into the bank. 181 and 57 dnf

Rescue – poke at battery leads all OK

Race 5 ………. 181 sails away up the lake, all on its own, beautifully balanced port fetch. Thankfully, not into the sunset, as a wind shift tacked the boat and it sailed blissfully in to the BLYM jetty. As half the fleet tried to catch up and spin me round the race was abandoned.

Thanks to Tom and Dick for helping the rescues

4 races – on discard

HAPPY NEW YEAR and may 2022 be a whole lot better than 2021 – or 2020 for that matter.
