That’s more like it. A surprisingly good wind down at the lake, despite the forecast direction. Having had much (too much!) practice at light wind sailing, skippers had to quickly remember how to deal with wild gusts on the run and the inevitable broaching.
Despite the buoys being somewhat out of place, we managed an A/C start, 3,D,outer – white (later 8), 3,D, OW-8, outer blue/D finish. There were 6 different race winners today with both John R and Dick becoming increasingly competitive. However, as always, consistency is key.
J’s on Sunday will have to make do with the somewhat random arrangement out there at the moment. We are, however, planning to re-set the buoys on Tuesday after the summer flurry of BLYM activity on the lake.
