Once again, a lovely wind gave the prospect of a fine session of sailing as skippers set their boats up on the bank. That is until briefing time whereupon the wind dropped and started swinging all over the place. Nevertheless, 12 (+ JS later on) skippers set sail using a number of different courses. Indeed, one race appeared to have two courses as different part of the fleet used either A or 5 as the Leewood mark – race abandoned! Fluky wind also made starting a challenge, included a ‘black flag’ start. Everybody stayed well clear of the line!
5 skippers had wins today -including Trevor J – a first 1st I think -well done.
J’s Sunday of course – a good thing as the weed is finally becoming a nuisance – and if the water level drops any more we might have difficulty even launching the IOM’s. Roll on the autumn.
