16 skippers gathered on a gloomy, sometimes drizzly but near windless morning to ‘race’. A short course of one lap – blues, 7,5, inner blue, A/D finish gave a reasonable range of sailing, but success depended largely on the ‘luck of the puff’. After lunch we shortened the course further – blues,A,5,inner blue, A/C which meant a short beat with a crowded first buoy. Ahh well.

Having said that, David found all the puffs – well it was expert sailing really, with 5 other skippers also managing wins.

Good to see our new skipper Graham down at the lake, so with other recent ‘joiners’ we have a good sized fleet.

Thank you to Richard for organising the jetty repairs – I think we all feel more confident about the stability of the area now. We will do the re-cladding when the water level is lower again in the summer. Thanks also to those who helped clear up the old cladding – and to John M for taking it all the dump.

Looks like a light southerly again for Sunday – but then when have we ever relied on the forecast!
