We were much saddened to hear that Mike King-Jones died on Thursday. He was always an enthusiastic skipper and he will be much missed. Our thoughts are with his family.
For a change we had a good mid ‘A’ rig wind down the lake which made for much better (if rather subdued) racing for the 15 skippers. A good long course was possible (with some shorter and intermediate variants).
There was a slight hold up as most of the fleet had a go at rescuing John K (his boat that is) from meandering its away across the lake. In the end, John C’s fishing line and Dicks boat sailed to the rescue.
David led the way most of the time (apart from a short sojourn stuck on a buoy) with wins for Oliver (3) and John M (1) as well. Richard was back for a full race day, doing well for a 4th overall.
Thanks to the all those who did a splendid job cutting back overhanging willow branches and replacing / adjusting buoys last Tuesday.
Marbleheads on Sunday, J’s on Tuesday as usual.
