Friday IOM Sailing 5th October 2018

The start of the 2019 racing season was a good one. A varying lightish wind down the lake meant we could set reasonable courses for the 13 skippers. And A/5 start up to 3,2,A , once or twice round and finish blues with a shorter version to make up time (A/5, outer blue, inner blue, A, finish blues) as well. Some weed was a bit of a spoiler for some though.

Racing was close, with a good variety of place changes (including a sneaky puff for 36 getting past 78 and 181 yards from the line!) , race winners and second positions: in fact at the front it was very close David and Oliver both had 3 firsts, 2 seconds and 1 third as counting races to give 10 points. The next discriminator is ‘who beat whom in the last race together?’ Well it was David in race 10!

Richard brought his DF95 down for inspection and a few skippers tried it out. Looks good.

Thanks to John M and Tom for resetting and cleaning the buoys last Tuesday.

Marbleheads on Sunday (water level permitting!).
